AVIATION GROUND HANDLING

The Launch Group supports people into employment in Aviation Ground Handling. Ground Handling agents provide a range of services to airlines such as:



  • Passenger Check-in
  • Passenger Boarding
  • Ticketing
  • Baggage Handling
  • Baggage Sortation
  • Ramp Handling
  • Maintenance
  • Aircraft Cleaning
  • Aircraft Fueling


Airlines often contract the services of a specialist Ground Handling Agent (GHA) to take care of the services above with strict service level agreements in place and on-time performance crucial. The service GHA’s provide is often a direct reflection of the airlines brand and therefore the quality of service extremely important.

AVIATION GROUND HANDLING
The Launch Group is a specialist in supporting individuals in to employment in this area, with our bespoke Academy programmes incorporating elements of ground handling company’s inductions, and other relevant industry related training. We offer both accredited and non-accredited recruitment programmes with guaranteed interviews given to every programme participant subject to completion and five-year referencing checks. Candidates on the accredited programme will gain an industry recognised aviation qualification.

When are the jobs available? Typically, between December and June each year with supplementary programmes running outside of these months.
Programme Duration: TLG offers a range of recruitment programmes, ranging from 3 days to 3 weeks in length.
AIRPORT SECURITY
The Launch Group supports airports across the UK with Airport Security Operative positions. The Civil Aviation Authority and Department for Transport work hard to keep our borders and airports safe and the role of an Airport Security Operative is crucial in ensuring the general public and passengers remain safe.

Some of the duties of Airport Security Operatives:
Carrying out ID and boarding card checks
  • Searching passengers and airport and airline staff
  • Performing security checks on cabin and hold baggage
  • Operating security equipment such as Body scanners and X-Ray machines
  • Operating security equipment such as Body scanners and X-Ray machines
  • Representing the airport as an ambassador through excellent customer service
AIRPORT SECURITY
Attending one of our Aviation Academy Programmes will give you an insight in to the role as well gaining an industry recognised aviation qualification. The programme will include talks from the designated airports security team, offering an insight in the role and the positions available. Should airport security be right for you and you satisfy the programme requirements, you will then be offered a guaranteed interview, bypassing the application stages and having the platform to impress.

CABIN CREW
The Launch Group delivers an industry recognised Level 2 Cabin Crew qualification as part of the Launch Group Aviation Academy. One of the most desired roles in the industry, seen as the opposite to a 9-5 career, airline cabin crew positions offer a variety and chance to travel the globe. Cabin Crew have to ensure passenger safety and comfort at the same time as demonstrating a high level of customer service to passengers.

This programme is designed to give you an opportunity to develop essential skills and an understanding of Cabin Crew roles so that you can move towards employment in this area. You will gain a Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew evidencing the required knowledge and skills you need to develop a career in this sector.

The Launch Group works alongside airlines who visit our programmes to give our learners up-to-date information on the positions available. In addition, we will support you with job applications and alert you to cabin crew positions as they come available.

When are the jobs available? Airlines can begin their summer season recruiting advertising as early as November. Our programmes run throughout the year in multiple locations.
Programme Duration: 3 weeks
AVIATION HOSPITALITY
The Launch Group work in close partnership with the leading Food and Beverage provider at almost every UK airport. We support candidates in to positions such as:
  • Barista and other Coffee Positions
  • Chefs
  • Bakery Team Members
  • Bar Staff
  • Restaurant Waiting Staff
  • Team Leaders
  • Kitchen Porters
With no experience needed to apply we will support you in gaining the knowledge and skills required to gain employment in the sector. By attending one of our programmes you will study towards a Hospitality qualification and should you complete the recruitment programmes requirements, you will bypass the application process will be offered a guaranteed interview in your desired role.
